It is exciting to see the news that Margaritaville is taking to the open seas with it’s first product headed to the beautiful island of Grand Bahama. I previously worked for a large resort on the island, so I feel hopeful that this investment will continue to recover tourism on the island after the hits of Covid-19 and dual hurricane strikes in recent years.
But sticking with tequila….whether you’re a Parrot Head or not, it’s easy to admire the success born out of Margaritaville. The original song has a great story arc (the slow realization of the narrator that his troubles maybe of his own doing). The foray into home products and restaurants kept the brand fresh. The dive into resorts and timeshare partnerships seemed natural and now the evolution onto the ocean underscores the ambition (and success) of the company. All inspired by a song.
