Local rec league soccer started this past weekend. From under-6 kids to U-19 players, everyone on the field was excited for the first games with their newly formed teams. From the sidelines, I could see the impact that the coaches made – seeing the opportunities in the defense, building a strategy for offense, encouraging some players with a quiet word and pushing others with a shout across the field. The players have different talents and it’s the coaches who see opportunities, develop a plan and share guidance that pulls the team together.
A business coach can have the same positive influence on your career as a sideline coach has on players—giving you extra practice with messaging, a new perspective on products and presentation, or a good pep talk before an important meeting. Coach Kery, at Up Level Consulting, offers exactly this type of mentorship. Recently, I scheduled a Promo Planning Session and the experience was a great one. Her pre-session Guide Book was a good resource to focus my thoughts. During the live session Kery truly helped me clarify my message ahead of an important client discussion. She is not only an expert at messaging and helps you recognize the key points of a project—she’s also fun, efficient and genuine. Just as a coach should be.
